ADI's industrial inertial measurement unit improves navigation performance and reliability of Autonomous machines

Analog Devices, Inc.(ADI)  Today, five high performance inertial measurement units (IMU) are released to meet navigation and safety requirements in several emerging markets for industrial applications, while reducing system complexity and cost. ADIS16470, ADIS16475 and ADIS16477 IMU use standard patch assemblies to provide superior performance improvements within the smallest size. These three different types of products are optimized to provide a range of performance and cost advantages to meet the applicability of the application requirements. ADIS16465 and ADIS16467 IMU have similar performance advantages, but the shell is firmer. These products are the common progress for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) application has brought hitherto unknown price, after the designer can only use the consumer level sensor solutions facing high prices, high risk and lower than the standard of performance problems, and it is difficult to achieve the reliability goal. The new IMU brings the same advantages to autonomous machine applications in the fields of intelligent agriculture, such as the rugged device requirements that force designers to choose between the most advanced, high cost sensors and commercial sensors with limited performance.

The five IMU provide 6 degree of freedom (DoF) detection through three axis MEMS accelerometer and gyroscope, and pay attention to the demand of industrial "mobile Internet of things" and its demand for precise geolocation. The performance of these IMU allows the system to accurately characterize the motion without turbulence, vibration, wind, temperature and other environmental disturbances, so as to achieve more accurate navigation and guidance and / or instrument stability.

With 30 years of experience in inertial sensor design, ADI has created an unmatched, reliable, high-performance and cost / cost combination. With the industry's leading performance, system designers can now rely more heavily on these high profile sensors, instead of increasing performance by adding tests, components, calibration, or software assistance. ADIS1646x and ADIS1647x IMU suppress other important error sources, such as "g" effect, cross axis sensitivity, and drift related to temperature and mechanical stress by special design.
